In Mortal Kombat, there's an extreme zoom on Sonya Blade chained up in Shang Tsung's castle. In Super Mario Bros., there's an extreme zoom on Daisy in Koopa's tower. Given murmurings online about Sonic the Hedgehog being pushed back to redo Sonic's design, I'd like to think that that's a cover story for adding an extreme zoom shot of the female lead in the villain's lair.
