Okay. I'm in the middle of watching Explorers on Crackle. Around the 38-minute mark, following the scene of Daren getting back his failing test, there's a weird transition to Daren searching around at night with his flashlight. It's not quite a complete fade; the scene freezes mid-fade with the light seeming to illuminate the previous visual, before flashing out of existence. I've replayed it seven or eight times and I still can't figure it out.

Maybe, it's how the film was transferred (online streaming services are so unpredictable), but there is the remotest possibility that this was by design. If the latter, not since the sliding split-screen in the prom massacre of Carrie (also edited by a Hirsch!) have I wanted to pick an editor's brain.
