Mr. Cellophane

In a location adjacent to a place in a city of some significance, what comes out of my head is plastered on the walls of this blog.

It's been a long few days, what with getting locked out of my e-mail account, then trying like hell to get into my recovery account, then going to a library and changing the recovery method there. It really feels good to be back in.

For now, it's just a matter of going through the year's scores so I'll have something of an informed opinion should the occasion arise when I'm prevailed upon for a year-end list at a website that isn't this one. It's going rather well, I think.

At Letterboxd, there are pages for Star vs. the Forces of Evil's "The Battle for Mewni" and Big Hero 6: the Series's "Baymax Returns", but not one for South Park's "The Black Friday Trilogy", and yet, they are all assembled from episodes of their respective shows. What the hell?

Noticed while watching Enter the Dragon:

- Williams' battle cry when facing the racist cops was 'Sooey!', just like Black Dynamite.

- I distinctly heard the New Zealand guy on the boat talk about his "shtoyle", just like on that one "South Park".

Remarkable the things you pick up when you watch too much television.

Huh. Between a Vulture article and an entry at the TV Tropes 'Dethroning Moment' page, maybe I made the right choice in skipping last night's "South Park" for the "Stan Against Evil" double-feature.

At least there, I got to see Jeffrey Combs hamming it up, and in the entertaining Would You Rather? way as opposed to the I'm-so-enamored-of-his-work-that-I-don't-see-the-need-to-rein-him-in-even-though-for-a-role-like-this-maybe-it'd-be-for-the-best, The Frighteners way.

According to National Day Calendar's website, today is National Chicken Lady Day. This day is meant to honor the contributions of Dr. Marthenia Dupree, who for 12 years, worked for the world's second largest chicken restaurant as the Director of Community Relations and Training, thus earning her the titled nickname.

When I first read this, my mind went right here:

Be honest. I wasn't the only one.
