Mr. Cellophane

In a location adjacent to a place in a city of some significance, what comes out of my head is plastered on the walls of this blog.

I posted my script to ScriptFrenzy. I really struggled to finish this one, mainly because my heart wasn't completely in this draft. The next one I write for this will be much better.

Currently on my break. Yes, we're open, today. Why?! "Oh, I need to do last-minute shopping for Easter dinner."

Tough titty toenails, and I think that Jesus Christ himself would agree...and in that exact phrasing.

30 is a dangerous age.

Well, not really. I've only been 30 for roughly a day now, and so far, things have been going well. This comes from of a movie title. However, I'm at an age where I ought to be doing (or have done) a lot more with my life than I already have. I've been told that I need to take a chance, but I'm no good with that.

Perhaps, I've said (far too often) what I want to do, but don't. I really have nothing to say and nothing to show for it...except this:

Since the ScriptFrenzy site is being a total twat right now, I'll just update the totals I've made it to in the last couple days.

21st - 75
22nd - 80
23rd - 83

It's snowing.

Allow me to repeat that:

It's snowing! In the middle of April!

Seriously, who is the retarded asshole who allowed that to happen?!

Every so often, I run across a cutie that I smile at, but (as ever) I lack the guts to say more than necessary (i.e. "Hello."; "Could I get onion rings with that?").

This week, two such girls crossed my field-of-vision:

- Tuesday, at Hot Dog Heaven (they're not just for Rosenberg and Goldstein, anymore), a brunette took my order. I forgot her name, unfortunately.

- Just today at work, I cashed a check for a redhaired girl (very appealing in a girl-next-door kind of way). When I say 'girl', I mean 'girl'; she's a mere two and a half weeks away from being old enough to vote. Good things are worth waiting for.

Footnote: the redhead's name is Kimberly Ann. I wonder if she's a cheerleader...

Was just watching "Community" for the second time ever. I can't believe what I've been missing.

Starstruck.

I cannot tell you how much I've missed over the years because I had to work. I, literally, can't; my memory isn't as sharp as I'd like it to be.

And yet, through some peculiar cosmic alliance, I had the day off today. This allowed me to...

- ...finally file my tax return. I went to my old church to make this happen. As I mentioned earlier, my mom decided to claim me as a dependent on her tax return. Because of my age, she can't do that. Unfortunately, she already filed her return, forcing me to go with the adjusted return. As it turns out, I, for the first time in my life, owe money to the government, not the other way around. I'm upset by this, of course, but (like so much I'm upset about in life) I can't do a goddamn thing about it, so I'll just send off the money.

- ...see Your Highness. Not as laugh-out-loud as Land of the Lost, but pretty funny.

- ...attend the tribute to William Fichtner. He was the first honoree for our town's Walk of Fame. I watched as his star was unveiled and he provided his signature and prints for a cement square. My photography skills left something to be desired, but I got some good shots. Then, I went to wait for an autograph. I shook his hand and told him how much I liked him in Drive Angry and What's the Worst that Could Happen? (By a freak of serendipity, the latter movie came on tonight. Just as I said, he was one of its highlights.).

Somehow, I like it more when I plan things than when stuff just happens, but this was, overall, a good day.

As I mull over what kind of card to get for my parents' anniversary, I can't think of a better use of time travel than finding the first person to put glitter on greeting cards and cutting their hands off.

Currently posting that other person's fanfic and trying to get a few pages of my Script Frenzy script done before midnight. Been pretty lucky so far on the latter; it seems to write itself.
