Agency (Lewis Furey)

Copy writer Philip Morgan (Lee Majors) is somewhat suspicious of the bigwig (Robert Mitchum) running his ad agency. Canadian tax shelter thriller has its moments, even if it ultimately resembles a lesser variation on Capricorn One.

I had never heard of Canadian composer Lewis Furey before I heard about this film and having seen it, I would love a release of his score; tense, playful and clever.

I had to see it to believe it. Weeks ago, I was browsing Richard Band's website and on the filmography page, he was credited as 'Score Consultant' for Gotti. I just got finished watching the movie and...

What little score there was sounded very little like Band's work (and I'm not exactly up on Pitbull's work to recognize his style).

No matter what one thinks of his electronic music, he was once a superlative orchestral composer. I just hope he can be once again.

Even though I (with very rare exceptions) stopped listening to soundtracks on composers' birthdays, I do still bring along soundtracks to listen to that (I believe) correspond with the movie I plan on seeing in theaters that day.

I took along Charade on my trip today to see Can You Ever Forgive Me?. As the movie went on, I thought to myself, 'Oooh, Catch Me if You Can would've been good.' and, later, 'The Informant! would've worked, too.'

As the credits started to roll, a cover of the vocal theme from Charade played. Definitely one of those 'I'll be damned' type of moments.

Okay, seriously, you're gonna tell me that 1988 audiences weren't freaking out because the girl from Hellraiser looked just like the girl from Beetlejuice? (Or vice versa; I came to this conclusion watching Hellbound: Hellraiser II...and, again, the resemblance is so striking, I'm amazed I didn't notice it when I saw the first movie.)
