"See you later...alligator."

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II was on Comet this morning. I initially watched it just to confirm that Terri Hawkes (aka the best dub voice of Sailor Moon) played the bitchy mean girl. She totally did (there is no mistaking that voice)...but damned if I didn't get sucked right into re-watching the whole thing.

Easily one of the best in-name-only sequels ever made. The plotting may not be the most revolutionary, but the atmosphere is strong, the cast is terrific and even a third of a century later, the effects just rip.

It's not a perfect movie (could really have done without the oh-so-distasteful trope of a minor character confiding in a close friend that they're pregnant and, within ten minutes, said character - and the life growing inside of them! - is dead as a doornail), but it is a pretty damn good one. Available for streaming on Tubi if you're curious and why wouldn't you be?
